Fibre broadband uses light to carry the broadband signal along glass fibres that are thinner than a human hair instead of electrical signals travelling along copper phone lines. The light travelling along glass fibres can carry much more data than the electrical signals travelling along copper cables and it is not affected by interference like electrical signals are. This means that fibre broadband is faster and more reliable than the broadband delivered by electrical signals travelling along phone lines.
